Not my first Rodeo
In 2024, I had the privilege of stepping into the exhilarating world of rodeo photography, capturing my first PBR event alongside a couple of PRCA events and some local rodeos. The high point of this adventure came in March 2023, when I photographed the PBR Ty Murray Invitational—a true spectacle of grit and athleticism that left an indelible mark on me. From the high-flying action in the arena to the electric energy of the crowd, it was a masterclass in the art of bull riding.
This passion carried forward to the PRCA event in Window Rock, where the riders and stock brought their A-game. From there, the journey continued to the Ute Mountain Round Up and the San Juan Stampede, both offering a unique blend of local flavor and professional-level competition. The year came full circle with the Codey Jesus Invite during the 4th of July in Window Rock—a celebration of tradition and raw rodeo talent.
Each event offered a different facet of the rodeo world, but the thrill of PBR action continues to be a pinnacle for me, blending high-stakes competition with unparalleled photographic opportunities.
